About Mrs. Rosenthal

Starting off the year of 2019-2020, I will begin my 11th year of teaching. My educational journey has spanned between 7th grade through 12th grade, in all areas/subjects of English and Reading. Currently I teach at Galena High School, the town where I also reside. This will be my fifth year as a Pirate, and I wholeheartedly claim the staff, students, and community members are truly part of what makes this district so special.

In addition to teaching, I have had several opportunities to coach, advise and serve on several committees. This school year I will continue to co-advise the GHS Student Council.

I am originally from the Chicago suburbs, but made the move to Galena where my husband grew up. My family consists of my husband John, daughter Chesnie (8), son Drake (7), and our new puppy Teddy. We spent the summer checking off our Summer Bucket List and attending several sport camps. After a fun-filled and busy summer my third and second grader are just as eager to get back into the classroom as I am!

With this small glimpse into my life you should note that my career, my students, and my family are very important to me! I know this will be a great year. Every day is a GREAT day to be a Pirate!
